Points of interest
HINTERBRÜHL - this is the closest village. The location in the midst of the Vienna Woods guarantees great possibilities for hiking, walking and different other activities in free nature.
The best attraction is the LAKE GROTTO in Hinterbrühl, This is a closed plaster-mine. One can walk through a phantastic labyrinth of corridors and halls to Europe's biggest subterranean lake (6.200 sqm). Open all year.
MÖDLING - the biggest town close to the National Center. There are various possibilities (public bath, shopping, restaurants - even the typical "Heuriger", hiking, ...). Mödling offers a varied program for all age-groups!
LIECHTENSTEIN Castle - This castle is one of the most interesting, oldest, nicest concerning construction, but also one of the smallest castles in the german speaking world.
Abbey of HEILIGENKREUZ - Abbey of cistercian monks with church (1135 – 60) and cloister of the 13th century. 2008 the monks got famous with a CD: "Chant - Music for Paradise". Universal Music produced a CD with gregorianic chorals. This CD conquered the charts in several countries within only weeks!

Hiking and Walking Possibilities
Natural Park of SPARBACH - Situated in the protected area of the Vienna Woods, approx. 4 sqm. Most of the area is covered with mixed forest, and there are wild boars and other animals. Nice to see are the historical Ruine "Johannstein" (12th to 15th century), the "temple of Diana", the ruine of "Köhler" and a funcioning water-mill. In the surroundings there are possibilities for easy walks up the hills on well-marked trails.
